Artist Bio

Alexandre Poupart is someone who always knew what he wanted in life from a young age: to make a career as an Illustrator and be surrounded at work with creativity and skilled artists. Despite this clear goal, Alexandre needed to undertake a sinuous journey of self-discovery to be able to find the maturity to confirm to himself and everybody else that being an artist was a feasible thing to do.
Plagued by uncertainty and self-doubts about ‘’ going the right way’’ after completing high school, it took close to a decade of career changes, restructuring and orientation to stabilize the foundation of a satisfying career plan. In the span of eight years, Alexandre went through six post-secondary program and three careers, almost all of them related to manual labor such as mechanical repair or truck driving, learning many different skills in the process. But something was not right for him: the more he pushed art aside, the harder life got. After consulting with a career counsellor, it was mutually concluded that a career in art was still a valid avenue, which in turn allowed for this final project presentation website to be possible.
Considering himself a jack of all trades, master of none, Alexandre never did consider himself much of an artist before coming to Dawson. He was someone that learned to be somewhat decent in art (and everything else) through experience gained by doing projects for and helping others, but now things are about to change. The ALC program is going to be his stepping stone to enter the Dawson Illustration program next semester, and upon completion, will enable Alexandre to transition into a full-fledged professional artist.
